That's exactly what we are looking for. I've wanted it for years, and then I forget about it til I see it again 😂
I know we can probably get it on eBay, but I thought we would put it out here 1st and see if anyone had a source or had some they would be willing to sell
I'd like a piece to add to my do not touch pile and maybe a few to cab

Yeah it's expensive and with that comes me wondering if someone could sell fake Rosarita. I know no one here would do that, plus I'd rather keep the money in the family if you will 👍
And there's always the possibility of a trade to ease the burden on my wallet 🤣

Very well aware of what it costs. I've been keeping on eye out for it on and off for years. I screwed up and didn't pull the trigger on some 4 years ago. Part of the reason asking here, is I'd rather give the $ to someone here or possibly someone may know a good source for it.

Was just looking on etsy and someone on there had a couple pieces of rosarita rough for $576.92 / LB. The piece was 240 grams but they wanted $300 for it. Based on the cabs I saw it would be way cheaper to purchase the cabs. At those prices I am sure there is counterfeit.

I agree that cabs can be found cheaper. I question authenticity with a lot of them. Like most things that have a high value, counterfeits pop up.

So could you Identify it if you saw a piece? I have some red and yellow glass that I acquired with a bunch of slabs and have no idea if that's what it is or not but it looks almost identical to one picture I saw on google search that was a seller on etsy. There was other rare slabs and rocks with it so who knows?

Here's a few photos I just took of a piece of slag glass someone gave me years ago to knap into arrowheads. I forget who gave it to me but it wasn't anyone here on the board. I have no way to know if it is rosarita or not but it was too pretty to bust up and make arrowheads out of. If anyone can tell by a photo if it is rosarita I would appreciate it. Been hanging on to this one a long time. Hard to see in the photo, but in the second photo I can see some light banding. Glass is not wet in the photos.     |

I've never seen it in person but my understanding is it should be vivid swirls of red and orange shading.
