RickB that definitely looks like it could be, especially if it has some orange in with it

I'm just throwing this out there for food for thought- I don't know if it's true in this case, but red/rose glass used to be colored by gold. I wonder if this is why it is so expensive. I have used gold to color glass and I have seen a lot of Venetian glass colored by gold.

I have used gold to color glass and I have seen a lot of Venetian glass colored by gold. Rosarita is actually the by product of gold smelting in Alaska Red glass started back in Babylon days and there is clay tablet with that recipe. They believed that base metals could be transformed into gold But the color faded so they had to figure out ways to solve that problem so they added gold chloride. The deep ruby red having the higher content with bright red they added selenium.
These days selenium and sometimes a combo of other metals is oxidized to make red

Did you find what you were looking for? Turquoisemoose.com looks like they're selling it for $45 a pound. I just bought 5 pounds from a rock seller in NM, you can find him on Etsy and Ebay and Insta under the name woodstonefeatherhide I haven't received my package yet but here's one of the pictures from the listing As far as rosarita containing any gold, it would be a very slight amount if any. I think the price is high because it's so beautiful and it isn't produced anymore. I had been looking for years and even had an Ebay search, for some reason this listing did not come up in the search, I found it by luck. If you talk to Gray let him know it was me who recommended him.

Yes, the seller has more Rosarita. I asked about colors and he said he just has red. I meant to post above that it isn't just red but can be yellow and orange and have bands and swirls too.
The bigger rough is .50 a gram and slabbed is 1.00 per gram. You can also message him Gray Cowan on Facebook Messenger.
