The other day I had a friend ask me if I thought I was going to get bored doing so many Regency Rose Plume Agate Doublets. I pondered it for half a second and realized...nope! There's way too much variety that can pop up for me to get bored with them.

Doublets are fun to try and decipher what's going to happen when they're ground down. I can't look at the "top" of the slab when I'm trying to figure it out, I look at the bottom (where it is going to be against the backing). I have to picture everything in reverse...and see if I can determine what's going to be happening 1mm-2mm into the agate from the bottom. That's the point I'm going to grind down to from the top.

Sometimes there's some amazing surprises waiting! I do believe the last cab pictured is my favorite doublet to date...and possibly in the top ten favorite cabs of all time.

Doublets really highlight these plumes gracefully. I can totally see why you are hooked since there are probably a bit more unknowns from the preforms to the final cabs.
