This looks somewhat like the Plume that I bought from Paul Wofford(sp) at his Shop just west of Marfa. Somebody else told me they thought the material he sold was from Mexico. Need to dig out something I have from him that I traded for a piece of Palm Wood I found near Lajitas Mesa.

Victor, thanks for sharing these pics! You've got more plumage going on than a proud peacock!

Very nice, indeed! All of them. Since you said these were collected years ago, I wonder if there's more out there. Let us know if you find some more.

HanksRocks, the ID on this material is accurate. Mac said someone else actually dug the large piece and got it part of the way out and Mac said he finished the job by dragging it the rest of the way. What I have is lesser quality because of the denser plume and more opacity in the chalcedony. Mac said he cut some really nice material from the other section but said I should get several nice pieces from what I bought.

Was just wondering if Paul had access to collecting there 40 or so years ago. If I can move enough stuff in my garage to pull out the slabs.

HankRocks, Paul wasn't free with information on the location where his material came from-found. My cabs that are backlight are nice with direct light.
