Those unexpected surprises are often the best of things that happen! This thread is intended to invite you all to add your own examples of a similar nature. Please feel free to add to this thread! A week ago, I tossed this carnelian nodule in to a 6 lb drum, a piece of junk-rock in the filler category. Being used by myself as such. Today upon opening, dumping and then rinsing the step 1 load from this drum (some agates) this happened. Even with slurry still inside the hole I could see the crystals. I will likely end up re-homing this in the coming weeks, it sure is nice when what we think of as a junk rock turns out to be anything but. Let’s see yours!

I love it when that happens! That's a very nice druzy pocket. Agates are a favorite of mine to tumble for this very reason!

Here's mine. I have a bucket of smaller stuff and crushed gravel that I use as filler. I don't pay too much attention to what goes into it but it's all good hard stuff. I gave a bag of the polished fillers to a friend's daughter and this one was her favorite.

My story because it's too dang cold to tumble is that friend of mine was tumbling some odds and ends from around the club for the upcoming show, and found a healthy sized piece of Australian opal in has batch, among several other high quality stones on the way to 220. This is why I've gotta get more affiliated with the club, so that I could get access to some of this stuff.
