Had some sunny weather today so I took advantage of it and ground a few even though it was rather cold. It was fun as all of these are materials that I've never worked with before counterclockwise starting at 12:00 a Boulder opal, peanut obsidian, Polish Flint, velvet obsidian, Peitersite I'm not sure on the agate maybe San Carlos.

Nice cabs! My favorite is the agate. My eyes definitely gravitated over to the druzy! Really nice looking batch!

Pretty!! I find boulder opal quite fascinating. Also really like that agate - and never heard of peanut obsidian before...is that the one at 1 o'clock? Love it. I had full plans to try and cab this weekend - got my foam backed discs all ready to go and then our damn power had to go out - was without for 26 hours or so. Ugh. Always next weekend I guess....

All really pretty. How does the Polish Flint work up? I have a slab of it but am waiting on cutting into it.

Nice cabs! My favorite is the agate. Thanks! My favorite too. Nice cabs! My favorite is the agate. My eyes definitely gravitated over to the druzy! Really nice looking batch! Thanks Jason. I like them, but none look like dessert or candy! Very nice I love polish flint Thank you. This is the first time I've seen Polish Flint other than pics (joys of being a newbie) They had a very small slab at the last sale I was at so I grabbed it. Nice stuff to work! Great cabs! I like the peanut obsidian and the background. Thanks Chris. I love the look of peanut obsidian. I should have taken Patty's liveoak advice and stabilized it. It was a solid looking slab. The preform broke into 3 pieces as I was trimming it. I free formed the largest piece. I'm the same way with boulder opal. I've been wanting to try some for a while. The pieces I got look kind of like dried mud. I couldn't really see any sign of the opal on most of them. Once I started grinding it started being exposed. Of course when I got done with the one I cleaned up the back and it looks like I should have ground the other side! Nice batch - I always love Pietersite ! Patty It looks great. I expected it to be more troublesome to work it. I was surprised by the clear areas in it. I didn't expect any transparency. All really pretty. How does the Polish Flint work up? I have a slab of it but am waiting on cutting into it. The flint is amazing. Have your earplugs ready. That stuff is harder than the hubs of hell and it will really make your course wheel sing! It worked beautifully for me. No chipping and it had a great shine off the 3000 wheel.

Hey! Your agate has a hole in it! I like ‘em all but the peanut obsidian looks good enough to eat!
