It warmed up enough to use the trim saw. Still too cold to grind. I had a thick slab of BMJ that was mostly unusable except for two areas. I trimmed them and marked the edges to split. I did the split ok but the
bottom of the splits wasn't usable. I had a super 7 nodule that I split and drew to preforms. I trimmed some Morrisonite and Jellybean preforms.

My 10 inch saw needs to be fixed and new 14 needs to be setup. I was ready for a new trim saw blade so I sacrificed the one I was using and cut some slabs and preforms. The picture I bought the piece from looked like the right side and the opposite side showed more color so I took a slab off the bottom and cut two preforms and a possibly usable scrap. The remaining piece has a couple slabs but I will wait until one of my slabs is working.

I dopped all the BMJ and a super 7. All have a rough ground dome and picked three to take thru 280 soft to see how they would finish. I need to remove some scratches. Still cold and my back isn't use to working after the layoff.

I bought a specimen of super 7 and split it with my trim saw. I didn't have a template shape small enough for the split pieces so I used something I had and truncated it. When I made the second one I tried to match them so they could possibly used for earrings. I can't do precision work but they are reasonably close.
