It’s getting crowded in here lol. I was getting 2 of my custom RCs I built ready to run when this behemoth arrived. Wow it’s huge!! I am so happy with the construction and material quality! The rollers have good sized sealed bearings that can be accessed by removing 2 bolts each. They use m5 (or was it m4) cap heads! I hate Phillips and flat head screws with a passion. Cap heads are the way to go. The welds overall are consistent, the powder coated stainless steel feels very solid, the motor is bigger then my fist, the belt seems fairy heavy duty and is easily replace…in fact the whole thing looks easy to service and clean. My beat up, arthritic hands love how it has large plastic thumb screws rather the those metal one. Man! I can wait to get it up and running later today… ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/dtgm9gehz/image/upload/v1680445458/hz5v7wbaqvunzxnrutrl.jpg)

First up, the pre run checks. One thing I learned from my other hobby is to never trust factory assembly. So I took the rest of it apart and lubed the bearings with a drop of superlube to each side and spun, degreased the outside and applied two coats of ceramic spray to all the powder coated parts, checked all of the welds and general assembly, then put it all together using a little Loctite on the pulley grub screws and bearing mount bolts. The motor doesn’t need anything aside from the drop a lube to the bearings. It works. Once a month I will pull it, lightly blowout with compressed air, clean it brushes with electrical motor spray as well as lubricate the bearings. It’ll last 10 times longer doing that just once a month. At the same time, I will also clean the entire frame etc, re-lube roller bearings and re-coat with ceramic spray.
We’re headed to a rock store now, we found one here in San Antonio and I’m excited! It’s only 6 miles from us. I’m not sure how I missed it before but we are hoping they have a bit of everything, including rough rock for purchase. When we get back, I will load up the behemoth for the first time with all local rock we collected.

That's really a great approach to "pre" maintenance! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I hope you snap some pics of your "finds" at the rock shop!! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Anything I can fix before it breaks seems to save me three or four times the effort then if it does break, go figure. Goofy me forgot to check and see if they were open on Sundays. They are not it so happens. So we went to another one nearby, which ended up being an over priced crystal novelty thing type place. Which was fine because the kid and her mom had fun. I learned what bumble bee Jasper is also (awsome!). Then we had pizza and beers at our favorite little place, Freetail Brewery. We will try again this coming weekend lol.
