I finally have the new saw room finished off enough to start cutting again. I still have some minor finishing touches to add, and I'm still needing to build a vent system (although I get very little oil mist if I let the saw set after the cut for a few minutes). I also moved the tile saw into the room so I did a bunch pendants and cut up some smaller Brazilian nodules. Fist rock in the saw was a nice Brazilian chunk I got from Kingsley North ANd some tile saw work

Congratulations. It's always nice to achieve a better work situation. I installed a powerful exhaust fan in my shop when I built it, but rarely feel that I need to use it even when running three slab saws or doing misc. trimming. I've even been known to open my slab saw soon after it was shut off, but it's for a quick grab of the slab and the top is closed again. Sawing rocks is just about as much fun any other part of lapidary.
