Tahoma has been a tough find for me lately. I found a facebook seller but have not been completely happy. I found this parcel on Etsy for $45 delivered not a fantastic deal but it might work out ok.
These pieces would be considered frog skin where they have been slabbed with the matrix instead of perpendicular.
I marked the slabs to eliminate knife edges and potential fractures and drew some designs.
I trimmed the pieces and had some fractures where I thought they might be.
Next step is to remove the matrix from the bottom, flatten and then redraw the shapes. A little too cold for grinding. Maybe it will warm up this afternoon. The real fun is when the doming begins. Does the pattern stay nice or turn into a mess. A slab cut against the matrix will be close to the same front and back. With the matrix the layers of pattern can be thin.
