ts Hello - wondering if these look better than my prior attempts? Do you still see scratches here? I could not pick up any while going through each stage, but as I look at the image looking straight down it still seems hazy...wondering if that's the material, or are there still scratches? Ugh. I tried a rainforest jasper too (both of these from Meeko's) but I could see scratching in that one by the 1200 disc. Thanks for your input.

I don't recall your recent post, but I think you did great on this one! It looks good even in this extreme close-up.

I don't see scratches, looks nice from here. Noreena gives me fits, I never get a fine shine on it, sort of a Matte finish even when there are no scratches. I don't think it is well silicified. I use Linde A on a leather disc as a final polish, using a 50,000 diamond belt has been recommended and I am going to get one and try it.

I don't recall your recent post, but I think you did great on this one! It looks good even in this extreme close-up. Thank you!! I've posted a few cabs that I've tried but have had little success getting the tiny scratches out of. This one seemed to go through and I (no matter how much I strained lol) couldn't see any scratching. I'm tentatively doing a little happy dance I don't see scratches, looks nice from here. Noreena gives me fits, I never get a fine shine on it, sort of a Matte finish even when there are no scratches. I don't think it is well silicified. I use Linde A on a leather disc as a final polish, using a 50,000 diamond belt has been recommended and I am going to get one and try it. yay! Thank you - it's been trial and error for me, mostly error lol...yeah, not the best shine...but I felt pretty good about this one. I've never heard of using a leather disc - interesting. I have the hi-tech slant lap - really want to get a cab king, but need to save a little first, AND I wanted to master the scratches here first because I feel that the slant lap already has a bit harder of a learning curve...

That's about as polished as noreena gets, it's a chore to even coax that out of it. It looks good.

I was so hesitant to post again until i felt I had figured out those darn scratches - wasn't sure I'd done it yet, but you all are making me feel more confident that I did! Phew. Thank you!!

Looks great! As others have said, noreena can be hard to polish. But, some are better than others. i'd say you probably got what you can get out of it.

Peta, as others have stated...that looks GREAT! I don't perceive any of the scratches I saw in those other cabs!! Fantastic job!! Noreena is a "hit or miss" type of material. Some will polish...and some will not. Alex has posted some shots of his Noreena, and it polishes up amazingly well! I've tried every way possible to get a shine on my Noreena...and mine gets a "matte" type finish only. I had started a thread a LONG time ago asking about it...and the consensus was some polishes and some doesn't... Flat out though...you got ALL the scratches out!!

Much better. Getting crisp realrockhound Thank you!!! I tried another out of what looked like green tree moss that you sent but the 'mossy' parts always give me issues - looks great, except where the 'moss' undercuts...oh well. All good practice!
