I finally finished this last night after a couple of tries.
It's a beautiful cab I traded out with the "roaming wire", and I believe it came from Tela (thanks Tela ). It's a "Chrysocolla Copper Complex".
I'd never done a wrap with beads before, so I tried to come up with something that wasn't too complicated. I think this one fits the bill.
But then of course there is the lesson l had to learn.
As I mentioned before I like to tumble my wraps after LOS, and when I first did this one, I had a rude surprise.
I found out that not all beads that look like copper are copper.
I BRIEFLY thought, well it's different, but it might still work.
Then I showed it to Tom, and his comment was how it looked like a row of teeth on the bottom of the cab
So, off to Etsy to buy real copper beads.
In the end, I like the new beads with the ridges as the LOS defines them nicely.
Anyway, here it is - thanks for looking,
Patty

I like that a lot, Patty liveoak!! The copper is perfect and I must say the copper beads are much better than the quartz.

I like it. The copper and beads look nice with the chrysocolla.👍 I made a handful of cabs back during the Thunderegg cab contest. My intent was to keep some matrix in each cab and where possible a raw edge. One of them was a small triangle with matrix at the base and clear agate the rest of the way. My husband said it looked like a removed tooth. Pretty much I can’t look at that cab anymore in a good light. But, it was good practice!

Patty, as I scrolled down the screen on my mini-laptop, I was wondering how the cab would "ground." Then I got to the beads and it was perfect! The beads (teeth) ground it perfectly. What looked confused turned into a masterpiece. Nice job.

Unfortunately then you can't stop seeing it either !

I still feel like I'm very much starting out with the wire wrapping,
so when/if I pull one off that's my own design (that I think looks good), I feel really accomplished.
Thanks for noticing

I realized I should have shown that this is what the beads looked like when I did the first wrap.
The tumbling after my patina, took the copper color away I never considered that they were copper COLORED glass beads.
But I know now !

I thought they were quartz! I've gotten a lot of beads that claimed to be raw copper and weren't. Now, I dip them in LOS before I use them.

Great job on the wrap, glad you were able to find real copper beads to replace the fakes.
