Hi guys, I am from Germany and new here in the forum. I am trying to tumbling or vibe and polish Ruby Zoesite smooth. So far I had little success with it. The green Zoesite does not become smooth, but has small pores on the surface. Step 1: 80 grid - tumbling Step 2. 220 grid - tumbling Step 3: 400 grid - vibe Step 4: 800 grid - vibe Step 5: Polish - vibe dry with walnut granules
Does anyone here have experience with?
Best
Stefan

Best Stefan I’ve been working on polishing 1/2 a pound for the last 10 days and am finding it difficult. I started them in the rotary with other rocks and they wore down very quick. Much quicker then I figured a 6.5 Mohs rock would. They also have a ‘surgery’ type coating feel to them. I switched them over to the vibe (220SiC) for the last couple days and the ‘surgery’ feel is beginning to smooth out. I had a couple more rough rocks left so just threw them straight in the vibe to start, instead of the rotary. It’s definitely a strange rock to tumble and seems to require a delicate touch. Not sure if I’ll try my hand at these again…
