Received a box from my Niece in Australia and these were in it. She called them a small assortment of rocks from Queensland. Would appreciate some ID help. Does this look like Chrysoprase? Lepidolite with mica? It is more pink/purple than photo shows. Mookite? These are Boulder Opal in Ironstone. Thank you.

I believe you are correct on the chrysoprase and lepidolite, not sure if that's mook or not. Most if not all mook I have seen has more yellow and purple in it. Chrysoprase has very nice color!

Thanks. The only purple in the Mookite type one is some veining. It is the one I was most unsure of.

The opal is really cool Beth. Patty I was in shock when my niece said she was sending me some Opal. She loves Opal. I love all of these pieces.

That must have been a nice treat that they sent rocks/slabs. They've been paying attention

I am no Mookaite expert (I don’t even know if I pronounce the word correctly!) but I do think the ID is correct. I’ve seen large chunks of it that are almost all white with veins like that. RoughStone dot rocks has some of it right now. Their N.H. store is an hour away. Dangerous on the wallet sometimes!

If the mookaite-looking slab is from Queensland, it isn't mookaite. Mookaite is from Western Australia.

Cool pieces, Beth!
The boulder opal is either Koroit or Yowah. I'm putting my money on Koroit.

A couple more photos of the Mookite looking one. And a close up of my favorite opal for Robin. hummingbirdstones I like the ironstone patterns and how there is opal in some places.

Mookaite can be extremely variable. I'd say it falls within the range of material I've seen. Agree it occurs in the west but rocks move with people as we all can testify.
