Boy I had a time with this one. Still a little bit wonky but I don't know how much better I can get it. The next one will have improvements.

I really like how you're branching out with what you're doing with the wraps! I've only "finished" one piece (I only remember one) where I had to hammer the wire. I tried a couple others and couldn't get it right. I need to take some scrap wire and practice smashing the crap out of it...or maybe that's the problem! LOL - I can see the side wires that are hammered didn't stay symmetrical...which is exactly what I was having trouble with. I'm thinking the more we do it, the more "consistent" we'll get with that. I really like the design you did with the bail area!

Really neat design. I really like the bail and then how the sides match with a similar shape. 👍

Nice design! I see elements of my own work on that one. Not insinuating anything- at all. I just note the "architectural" elements. I like it a lot. Way to think outside the box!

That's nice rockbrain, I like the flattened wire on the sides, a good balance with the shape of the stone.
But the pedestal the stone appears to be sitting on is also interesting.
Thanks for showing it,
Patty

I really like the design you did with the bail area! Thanks jasoninsd. The hammered part actually came out real symmetrical. It's the rest of the frame that was a big issue. If you look at the top, the hammered part is pushed down on the left. I was tweaking everything around at the end to try and make it line up. I don't know what went on with the rest of the frame. I had a really tough time joining the frame and the hammered piece. This is the furthest I've got with a hammered one. I've got a few pieces laying around with hammered parts that were never finished! Really neat design. I really like the bail and then how the sides match with a similar shape. 👍 Thanks khara, I had a tough time with that bail too. I have to go back and take a look at the design and try and change a few things on the assembly. Nice design! I see elements of my own work on that one. Not insinuating anything- at all. I just note the "architectural" elements. I like it a lot. Way to think outside the box! Thank you rockjunquie. Some of your work was definitely in my head as I was working on this. I love how some of your pieces hang from a cross piece. Originally the hammered piece was going to have some "balls" melted on the end but I had left my smaller torch at work. I actually brought a torch in from my van but went this route instead. That's nice rockbrain, I like the flattened wire on the sides, a good balance with the shape of the stone.

Thanks liveoak. The bottom took a different route from my original intention. I think this is my first completed piece where the frame is joined on the bottom. It was bit simpler and smaller but there was some symmetry issues. After smashing the crap out of it with my pliers I wrapped it to cover it up!

rockbrain - Oh! That makes sense! (At least your other pieces are still hanging around...mine ended up in the circular file! LOL)
