I figured why not see if I can line the can with something. So I took a small, low quality trash bag and put it inside the can and secured the top. Then I trimmed the bag from the outside of the cylinder and let er rip. A few hours later I opened it up and thought it failed. It didn't. There was a free chunk of bag going back and forth in the oil and I thought the bag had ripped. As it turns out, when I pulled it apart, everything was perfect but I didn't see it until I pulled the bag. It looked like a bunch of turds floating in water. So the experiment worked but I don't like the bags I used so I will have to find some I like better.
