Hi,
I just got a used MK 101 tile saw. The blade on it looks pretty thick. I'd like to replace it with a new blade. Any recommendations? I've read that the MK 225's quality seems to have gone down. Or should I get a MK 301?
TIA!

I have a tile saw (8" blade) that I use to cut/trim/slab rocks. I once tried the 'BD-305 Agate Kutter' blade and determined that it wasn't really much (if any) different than a much cheaper blade. So, I have since been buying and using 'QEP Black Widow' blades for much less money. Keep in mind that tile saws tend to run at high RPMs and not all diamond blades are rated for high RPMs. For example, it appears that a CabKing runs at around 1500 RPM while my tile saw allegedly runs at 4400 RPM. The blade Starguy posted looks interesting. I wonder if it is usable on a high speed saw.

I’m running their red sintered blade right now. It has a thinner kerf than the black blade. I think any sintered blade will have a similar service life. They’re kind of spendy but I’ve been impressed with the durability and cutting speed. When I’m hand pushing agates through a saw, I don’t baby the blade. I can’t imagine how long it would last if I did.

I recently met a gentleman on Facebook who is part of a lapidary business in Madera, about 45 minutes from me. They cut everything with water and tile saws. He recommended THIS blade to me. I haven't used a 10" yet but purchased a 7" for my trim saw. I've not used it a lot but so far am happy with the performance. It cuts smoother with less vibration than the blade I was using. Hard to go too wrong for $25!

Thanks all for your recommendations. I ordered the Black Widow blade and will report back on how it cuts.
