this was my first time working with this material, i know the mineral data says it is 5-6 MOH, but it sure felt harder than that! this is a 30 x 22mm oval, with and without flash: most of the rest of the slab is a more uniform purple color, i picked the "weird" part of the slab for the first cab.... thanks for looking! Great looking cab KD. You're getting really good at these. And that is definetly weird looking for Charoite.

Looks like it's got little bugs stuck in it. It's a pretty color though and a nice job on the cab. Are you going to try tumbling any just to see what it does?

I love charoite. I bought some for tumbling. Can't wait to try it out.
Did you have any problems with the inclusions - like undercutting or whatever?

this stuff "flaked" a lot, Toad...i always throw the saw scraps in for tumbling, so we'll see what happens.
i'll try a more "mainstream" piece next, Stoner.
