There should not be any leaks between the everclean and a new saw. Contact them immediately. Talk to John, not one of the girls. I have been calling and getting emails from the girls for over a day now. They tell me oil is fine to come out of the bottom of the everclean where the motor and fan is. That doesn't seem right. They claim to have shown my videos to John and he is relaing messages back to me.... As a consumer, that isn't sitting right with me. These machines are expensive and shouldn't leak this much IMO... Any ideas on how to get through to him? On the everclean videos, he says it should not leak... Thanks for advice/help. The machine is very cool and I have cut a few slabs now, but everclean seems to be my issue...

valorguy , I know you're working on the Everclean leaks, but were you able to stop the leaking from the cap on the drain nipple? You mentioned you used plumbers tape, and things are snugged up tight. If you're referring to Teflon tape, do you think it simply needs more to make it thicker on the threads? Or, maybe plumbers putty? Different cap and maybe start over? I'm just spit-balling, and perhaps you already got it taken care of. ETA: Okay, you made me look around a bit, and I came across this Everclean playlist on YouTube: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLARAALMc77rPbQTn8zOSFiZzTEtfY4d5lHave you seen these at all? I saw at least two videos related to leaking. One relates to oil pressure and reducing leaking oil by adjusting a ball valve, and the other relates to leaks in the casting of the body. "Sherman" is the guy doing these videos, so perhaps he's someone you can ask for? Also, at the end of the casting leaking vid, he said you can DIY a repair and get some type of discount, or you can send it back for replacement. Hope this helps a bit.

Yeah, I'm wondering about the nipple leak too. I would check the nipple above the cap for oil, your pic shows a pretty crappy weld. As someone who has made tanks, I would have ground that all off and redone it without even testing. Uneven heat on a weld like that may have also made the nipple a little oval as well, somewhat fixable but a real pita. With a nipple I like to put a female coupler on real tight with thread tape and pipe dope, then use a plug instead of a cap. Easy to get a nice wrap of the tape on a plug while you're holding it instead of crouching under the saw. Still should use a brush on the inside threads, but you can do that by braille.

Hey there, yes I did see these videos. Thank you for letting me know, just in case. I don't have technical knowledge to take it apart and seal the "dam" as they refer to. However, the oil is not leaking from the side hole any more, it's coming out of the bottom of the motor fan and going everywhere because of the motor being on. I am waiting on them still, hoping they call me tomorrow.

I have confirmed with my glasses and a strong light ( I'm old lol)... I guess I need to wait until the tank is drained before I can really wish about that now.... When I do decide to drain it, what would you use on it to make sure the leak doesn't come back again? I mean, use thread tape and pipe dope, or put a female coupler like you suggested? It is so small a leak, I think a latex glove with a rubber band around the top can catch the leaks if I'm out of town for a week or so... I have seen that before...

Congratulations on the saw. Mineral oil likes to creep through threads. Yes work on stopping the leak but in the meantime, place a small try, cookie pan, or whatever with a bit of oil dri in it, under the leak. The oil dri contains the oil, reducing splatters, spills, or tip overs. I have trays under various sites on all four of my saws. Yes I can stop the leaks by super tightening the caps but thats a pain to remove them for cleaning. A couple of leaks are around the arbor entry into the tank. Not big but messy if not contained. A bag of oil dri will last forever and its good for soaking the oil off of slabs when the first leave the saw. Actually, I drain briefly on my trim saw table, then bury them in oil dri overnight or wave them for a minute of vigorous rubbing in the oil dri, and then run them through a water soak with dawn liquid soap.

Good to hear it's not the weld, fixing that would be no fun. The reason for the coupler is to use a plug instead of a cap for ease of applying teflon when replacing it. I think for the first oil change I would just use the cap with more sealer on it first to see if the leak is easy to stop. One trick with the tape is to begin and end your wrap at the end of the threads so they are less likely to slip while tightening.

When I got the part to replace the missing carriage retainer strap on my 14/16 saw I called to get the dimensions of their replacement, the person I talked to said I would get a call back. Never happened, I gave up and ordered since the salesperson said I could always just return it, and I had a bit of slow time so I wanted to get started. Several weeks later it arrived, and of course not the same dimensions. It is close enough that I think I can make it fit, but if I had it to do again I would have just fabricated it myself and been a lot further along on that saw.

I got a reply after I left for vacation.
Hi Mark, yeah, it can happen if you open the valve too much and flood the internal dams and gets into the motor. It wont damage the motor if it happens a little and then the flow gets adjusted properly, but it does take a while for the oil to finish dripping out of the motor, which can be annoying. I havent come up with a way to change the design to keep this from happening, because people will use different viscosity oils in the unit and for this reason the oil flow needs to be adjustable.

Still having the evrerclean issue....
For some reason, they won't get me in touch with him at all. They keep putting me off. They want to refund the unit saying that they are having quality issues....
That really isn't good customer service - they don't answer the question at all.
Frustrating.
