So Ed grew up in Showlow Arizona! He said he was from "BedRockZona." He claimed his father was in the Record Business and often shared his special music. He spoke as if he had studied classical Greek and Roman history. He loved the geography, geology, and history of the Phoenix area, the Superstition Mountains, Dreamy Draw, the Cibola / Hohokam civilization, Anything he could find about his area. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1006985/thread

1dave, Just to clarify Ed, (as well as his four siblings) were born at St. Joe’s hospital in Phoenix,AZ and we grew up in Phoenix.
I have no doubt that Ed studied both Greek and Roman history as well as philosophy. Ed graduated from Alhambra High School but didn’t attend College. He was a veracious reader and spent hours and hours at the Phoenix Library reading.
Our Dad, Remo was a big band musician in his youth in New Jersey but moved out to Arizona in his late 20’s due to Asthma and met my Mom, married and worked as a journeyman electrician for Salt River Project, he actually worked on the Hoover Dam. He retired and moved up to Show Low. Now he always stayed involved with music and actually did DJ-ing on a local station but he wasn’t in the record business.
Ed, our parents and sister did live in Show Low for many years until Ed got divorced and my Dad passed away and my Mother and Sister moved down to live by me in Litchfield Park,AZ.
Im fairly certain this was about the time Ed got involved with his passion for rocks and started with RTH, which until just recently we just found out about.

I am sad I never knew Ed since I only joined recently. But his presence can be felt in the forum. Carrying on the passion of rock hounding and minerals is the best we can do.

Exciting News to share from Zooashley today.
If you remember, she thought the zoo might do a tribute to Ed in their digital magazine & they have I thought it was an exceptionally beautiful tribute to him

Has anyone messaged Ed’s brother? I did indeed, although I'm concerned that he isn't active on the forum anymore.
If anyone has a direct e-mail for him, I hope they will contact him.

Has anyone messaged Ed’s brother? Rick, I don't know if it's a staff perk or not, but we can see email addresses of members, and I've let his brother know that the zoo published an article about Ed. I just sent the email, and I provided a link to the article. If the brother needs more direction, he'll be able to directly reply to my email. Thanks for asking, and I'm hoping we have it covered. ETA: Patty liveoak , I hope this also addresses your concern. Lee Rockoonz, you too.

Ed's brother, Michael, replied to my email, and the family has now seen the article. He again expressed his sincere appreciation to everyone on the board for what we did for Ed with the bench. ETA: Rockoonz and liveoak, I also let Michael know that you two reached out via a forum PM or through FB Messenger, in the event you had anything else specific for him.
