I was excited to cut this rock but it is just weird. Any idea what it is? My friend said he picked this up while walking a dried river bed in Arizona. I slabbed it and it looked grey and green... So then I started cabbing it. Pretty soft stuff kind of like Noreena and the polish and undercutting was all over the map. Not sure if I will continue or just put it aside for now. Before shot Side view Sliced... Top view looks ok but it's not a good finish. Looks like dried super glue or something It's worse than it looks on the picture...

Reminds me of this river material my brother brought me, only it was orange. Soft, undercut, made a mess of my saw. I gave it the name outhouse orange.

It look like serpentine from the area NE of Globe Az. Hit it with a buffer and some Zam, should take a mirror polish.

It does have a Serpentine look to it. Was it "slimy" when you were working it? The only Serpentine I've worked had a really weird "greasy or slimy" feel to it when working it.

As far as being "concerned" about asbestos...ummm...probably. But I'm in the "camp" which believes working it wet alleviates any of my concerns about any issues with regards to the asbestos.
