Hi all. Well, it was cold last nite so we lit a fire in the fireplace and I threw a chunk of yellow tigereye on the grate and this is what came out this morning. Worked quite well. The cab looks a lot better in person. Enjoy, Ed

Not only is that a very innovative way to cook tiger eye, but that is also the reddest tiger eye I've ever seen! Probably be a lot of people having having fires in their fireplaces tonight!
Do you have a gas or wood fireplace?... I'm betting wood to get the kind of heat that would require?

Hi Ed, Well I will be throwing out the gas fire and light up the coal fire instead , yes it is a fantastic red, I havent seen anything like as red as that either,
This seems to me to be afar better way to do it than using a electric oven ,

Hey RS /Jack, I have a wood burning fireplace and it does get hotter than an oven. The good thing is if it were to shatter, I wouldn't break the oven door.

I would think a pellet stove would work great Stephan. This was in the coals for about 4 hours, then I just plucked it out the next morning.

Yeah Kim, it is down into the 40's here at nite(I know, real cold) but it's romantic too. If you're gonna do it in a yard fire, you better wrap some wire around it so you'll be able to find it.
