Ruggles Mine, a well known site here in the Northeast, is going up for auction. Honestly, I was there a couple of times, never really thought much of the place. I’ve had much better luck at other old mines here in the Northeast, lots of granite pegmatites here.

THats sad. I was there like 20 years ago and had a blast. Found a lot of very cool Mica and other interesting specimens. Carried out a 50 Lb black tourmaline encrusted Mica boulder (still have it to this day) My parents were laughing at me the entire time. I had to ride with it at my feet for the entire rest of the week (we were there for a wedding and there were 6 of us jammed into a mini van). THe owners told me it was one of the nicest ones they had seen in several years (I dug it out of the wall in about 15 minutes). No tumbling stuff, but cool stuff none the less

I can't tell if thats some Gneiss Schist, or that Schist is Gneiss. All I know is don't take it for Granite
