The vendor got all his cabs from another friend who did lapidary so he was unable to ID the piece. What do you guys think on this one? Colors in the picture are pretty true to the real thing.

I'm going to guess it could possibly be...heavy on the possibly!...Horse Canyon Moss Agate.
Good looking design on the wrap. You could take some steel wool to the wrap and it'll take off a bit of that "black" area from the Liver of Sulphur treatment. At the very least, if you get a piece of Sunshine Cloth, wiping it down with that would make that wrap "pop" big time...and it too would remove some of that excess patina.

Horse canyon or my other guess would be Ochoco moss agate. The ochoco has that white moss with the green moss inlay as well.

I don't know Ochoco and a lot of other mosses. HC has a looser pattern.

Thanks for the replies and help. Probably splitting hairs at that point between the two. I'm leaning towards the Ochoco just based on other pictures and your input. Plus saying Ochoco is a little more fun
Guess she got something from Central Oregon after all.

I honestly don't know how you guys do it. There are 1000's of varieties around. Maybe my brain just isn't wired to identifying yet, but always impressed with the depth of knowledge within RTH

I also vote Ochoco, and definitely more fun to say.

Maybe my brain just isn't wired to identifying yet, but always impressed with the depth of knowledge within RTH I say this as humbly as possible, but in my case, when you grow up with a grandpa who was one of the OG’s to digging and discovering new materials (at least in my area), who also happened to leave you with lots of different material showcasing variance in locality, it makes things a whole lot easier to try and narrow things down. With ochoco for example. You can have the pattern shown above, you can have it more splayed out and not as tight knit, it comes in standard green, it comes in the prized aqua blue/green, or comes in the white with green inlay in variety of layouts.
