Having a lot of fun with my new HP14 slab saw. I do however have some regret in buying it. Like now I want a trim saw... and eventually maybe a cabbing unit. LOL. Seriously though the couple things I didn't like have to do with the oil in one way or another. A quick google search told me these issues are normal and easy enough to deal with. The search directed to threads on this board. LOL. Ya'll answered my questions without me having to ask. I got the rough from catmandewe back in Aug. 2019. As I recall he had a trailer load from an estate sale and I got a couple boxes. This chunk was solid, fracture free, and too "nice" to bash up with a hammer and tumble so I saved it. I'm not overly knowledgeable with rock ID's but Stinking Water seems to be correct based on my internet searches. If you know different I'd be glad to change my ID. Took pics of both sides of each slab as they came off. Some of my favorite shots... 20230704_222040 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr 20230704_214650 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr 20230704_225942 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr 20230704_222040 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr An album link if you care to see all ... flic.kr/s/aHBqjALEKfThanks for looking and have a rockin' good day !

Stinkingwater plume usually only has the white plumes, thats probably feather ridge plume or something close to there, it is off the backside of Graveyard point.

That's a beautiful piece. I hope someone will come up with an accurate name for it so we can hunt for some ourselves. Where did you get yours? Did I miss something in your posting?

Duh, me! I reread and see that you got it from catmandewe. I sent him a message (hope he gets it). I'd like to find some like you have.

Definitely looks like the Graveyard Point Plume Agate and/or Regency Rose Plume Agate I've worked...which are so close to each other (where they're "mined") they might as well be the same material as far as I'm concerned. LOL Nice piece tkvancil! The agate in there looks super clear! That piece would make some awesome doublets! And yes...you're gonna need to get a cabbing machine! (You didn't think we were going to try and talk you OUT of that, did you? LOL)

The state should be renamed Plumegon. There are so many plumes they all haven't been given a name. When I buy Stinking Water, I look for a lot of water and spaced out stink. Regency Rose, Graveyard point, Pink Lady, Nyssa and Warm Springs all have a dense pattern. This is airy.

That’s a graveyard point plume. I have some identical. Location/name of deposit will come to me. Give me a minute 😂

Some great looking slabs regardless of what they're called. Glad you're enjoying your new toy. It's an addictive hobby. My HP 16 is currently in transit. Somewhere out in the ocean while I wait patiently!
