Hello lotarocks I don't use a vibe but read some postings in here that mentioned that with the vibe you skip the step 60/90 and go directly to 120/220 step. It seems that the 60/90 won't work with the vibe. Try to use the search in here to find some vibe "recipes" that will work for your material. Anyway, here is a link on a discussion related to the vibe and grits used, it is long but it is very interesting: andy321.proboards16.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1094314650Hope this helps a little

I got a TV5 vib. The first time I used it I put 60/90 in it. Had a hard time with it. I read that vib tumblers were meant to retain the shape of the rock so you don't use 60/90 in it. Next thing I did was get me a rotary tumbler so I can use 60/90 to round the rocks 'til my heart's content! Then I move them to the TV5 and within days, I get my "treasure" out. THis method still feeds my "impatience"! hehehe

60/90 isn't for vibes, for both reasons, doesn't work effectively on the rocks and wears out bowls too!
You can start with 120-220, but an alternative is 100-120, which I use, and which is the Raytech coarse grit in the TV5 kits.

I've got a bowel with a big ol hole in the bottom to prove it. And it moved very slow with the 60/90. 120/220 actually moves faster! 100/120 sounds perfect. Can I get that at Raytech, puppies?

Ummm, I'd have to go back and look...I have a big tub of it from my last order of 10 lbs. I got it from Raytech maybe, or possibly kingsley north or color wright...I'll let you know when I remember to check it out.
