Anyone have a source that has 16" MK blades in stock that's either Canadian or ships to Canada? Decided to pull the trigger and actually replace the blade in my slab saw but 16" blades are sold out at Rock Shed and Kingsley. Local Rona/Lowes/Home Depot had nothing. Amazon Canada had nothing. So I got fed up and looked into getting a blade from Highland Park.....and promptly gave up in frustration after the endless information they wanted just to give me a shipping quote. Herding a thousand cats uphill in a tornado would've been faster. Worst case, I'll be in Montana in about 5 weeks and try to find something there if someone can recommend a good lapidary shop in the western part of the state.

Does it have to be an MK blade?

Does it have to be an MK blade? Tony Doesn't have to be as long as it cuts well! MK is just what I've used up until now (minus one that came with my saw). Plan is to finish cutting up a ton of petrified wood and some fairly large agates -- about the size of coconuts. Heard back from Highland Park today; $97USD to ship me a $130USD blade. Was really keen to try the Greenline blade too. Now I'm thinking I'll probably just cross my fingers and wait to shop for anything lapidary until I'm across the border.

Only trouble is the shipping and the duty. I hate it. Last time I bought some wheels from Kingsley and there was an additional $125 tacked on between duty & shipping (and order was already about $60 more than I budgeted for because the dollar was doing so terrible). Sort of ironic that spending money on lapidary stuff puts me between my rocks and a hard place.

How about a brand new in box old stock Star Diamond 14" blade? Tony

Those old Star Diamond Meteor blades were pretty good blades!

The old style continuous rim blades are the best. The Advanta tool blades on eBay have been great for trim saws, I have a new 14 I plan to try out on my smaller FranTom saw. They are from S Korea and seem identical to the Barranca MK blades, wonder if they are just no label.

Normally I'd be all about it but already have a brand new 14" MK blade that I've been holding off using (it came with a drop saw I got that I want to sell). Noticed the other day that I also need to add more coolant (which I found out was discontinued) before I can cut anyways. I feel like I'm having a " Mohs VS the extension cord" kind of month.

Well frustration won out and I’ve got the MK from the open top saw ready to go. And now I need to find a home for the open top saw but that’s a problem for another day.
