Nice and round! Ohio flint is amazing to work with. Awesome job. TFS Thanks so much, dshanpnw ! I'm enjoying it so far and looking forward to getting back there. I think going to Flint Ridge, OH would be #1 on my list of places to go collect. I hope everyone is keeping the dig site in good order.

When I worked on my slant cabber, I stood behind it...not in front of it. I felt being in front didn't give me any kind of angle to view how the cab was contacting the disk. When I stood BEHIND the unit, I was looking directly down at the top...and I'd work the rock around the 12:00 position. This allowed me to see the exact contact point between the cab and the disk. I'm not sure how you're working yours... Oh! Interesting! I may have to change my set up and see how that works. I'll have to take a pic of my set up, but I basically have the magnifying lamp to the left of the machine and I sit in front of it, really close and typically work on the right hand side of the disc - but it IS hard to get a good visual, hence the reason why I get down so close. Thanks for the tip - I'll give it a go. I know I took a picture of my setup on the slant cabber and posted it on here somewhere...but I couldn't find it just now trying to do a search. I figure it's gotta be in one of my old threads...somewhere! LOL

I hope everyone is keeping the dig site in good order. They seem to - I got the sense that the land owner's grandson is a bit fed up with it, but he recognizes that it's supplemental income for her, I think. He mentioned trying to study July 2 and everyone kept coming up to the door interrupting him. I hope they keep it open, but recognize the headache it may be - if they put up a sign in the little gravel lot explaining how it works then I think that would cut down on those who just didn't know what to do.
