I use acetone and soak for a couple days and follow up with a dry cleaning spot cleaning gun to clean the residue. Repeat as necessary. This method works great on plume with multiple druzy pockets.

I like to put painters tape over druzy pockets before dopping. It’s super easy to remove but also prevents the wax from getting in any crevices. Just make sure you don’t cover the whole back of the stone with tape, the wax still needs to touch the rock.
