Why must you tempt me! Im probably gonna have to buy this.
--edit--
Messaged the seller and Im hoping I can go take a look at it. Its not very often that used saws come up for sale around here so I cant pass this up.

I'm surprised anyone even has a slab saw anywhere near Chicago. It's a barren wasteland when it comes to lapidary. My BIL used to work for Com-Ed out of Bolingbrook.

Birds fly upside down over Chicago because it isn't worth their time to shit on it.

That is a deal for sure, in todays market it's at least 3 times that or more for a functional saw that size.

Ashley- I'm from Geneva. Actually going to be at the Utica craft beer fest next weekend at the flea/open market.
So...I didn't come home with the saw...yet lol.
Met an awesome dude and his wife and bought a Beacon Star flat lap instead. Since I already have a slab saw and I didn't have a lap I couldn't pass it up.
Now I'm regretting not buying the saw too so I'm probably going back for it.
I also kinda spent money on material and specimens too. Got an awesome piece of Hardin County fluorite 😁

Must be a good week for craigslist saws! There are two for sale in NH, a 14" Covington for $950 and a 24" Hilquist for 1200! Also a 14" BD-HP in MA half price of new at $2200.

I totally went back for the saw today. And I picked up some great pieces of rough and a few more mineral specimens.
Once I get things unloaded from the truck and arranged I'll post some pics.

So here is the final haul. I'm not gonna list everything but if anyone is curious just ask. The big chunk of Biggs jasper was a nice score along with the chrysoprase. Multiple types of obsidian, pietersite, variscite, turquoise, Spencer opal, Mexican opal and more fluorite specimens. Planning to order the stand from covington for the saw and figure out where to set up the flat lap this week. I've already got some geode halves and thundereggs I'm planning to run in it first. Overall I'm extremely happy with it all. And the guy I bought from is looking to get rid of a ton more. He said I can send people his way to get in contact with him. So if anyone else is interested, send me a message and I can get you in contact with him.
