I hope this video upload worked... I had to reduce the resolution a bit to get it to upload.
It works! that is a very shiny rock and a really cute fluffy cat that I’ll have to show the kid lol. I have a chunk of mahogany obsidian that is the size of my open hand. I need to start working on it.

Thanks! In retrospect I think I got l may have gotten luck with this first tumble of obsidian. I'm going to try some more soon, following the same formula, and we'll see how that goes!
