It's about 2 inches. I will post a closeup
I have always loved stuff like minerals and fossils, but the lack of availability kind of killed that liking.
Then not just ebay, but the store that brings it in visit mineral shows themselves to make sure the stuff is real. They are a pooja store chain (Hindu prayer supplies) and they are very particular.
My love of minerals and fossils are returning.

Is it from Morocco? They go pretty cheap. I like the Ammonites from Montana and South Dakota, they have more character... Moroccans go for $10.00 an inch on average.. That one does have nice sutures on it ..

I am the guardian neediest fund. lol Anything spare I would appreciate. I find raw ones to be fascinating. I went fossil fintding earlier on our east coast, but it was a complete dud.
I don't know where they sourced theirs.
the iridescence I really find fascinating.

I the iridescence I really find fascinating. As far as I can determine most of the iridescent ones of lapidary interest come from northern Montana and southern Canada. I read of another occurrence in north Africa recently but can't recall the details. Collector-grade fossils of various types are found worldwide. Morocco, France and Germany are especially prolific sources, with many being pyrite pseudomorphs encased in limestone like the one below:

My concern buying ammonite from fleabay is getting artificial stuff A valid concern IMO with some lapidary materials but I can't envision anyone taking the time and effort to make faux ammonite fossils -- natural ones are plentiful and generally inexpensive.
