I use acrylic and super glue or dollar story 2 part epoxy. I just wore out a repaired lid on my AR-12 (well it got too thin for comfort) and my notes tell me I repaired it 12 years ago! I had some 1/8" acrylic from a remodel I helped out on and have been cutting repair patches from that for years. (my 3 Lb barrels seem to wear out lids faster). I glue the patch in place and clamp it. After 24 hours I run a bead around the edge and add baking soda (for super glue- be careful as the fumes will give you a horrible lung burn and it does heat up a bit)or just let dry for another 24 hours for the 2 part epoxy. For my Model B I use rubber inner tube repair patches and rubber cement.
