I have an older refurbished saw. Was in storage for 8 years. Finally getting to use it. After a decent check over regressing/oiling I’ve cut probably 40 slabs on it. While cutting serial slabs (and this thing cuts awesome, I can get 1.5mm slabs!) the machine started making more noise than it did previous slab. I checked- blade wobble about 1/8th in both ways. Took belt cover off and watched. Straightened out once it hit material. But the screw that held the belt wheel (that connected to shaft) was loose and fell off before my eyes. Put that on then needed to tighten the screw on the arbor. Cut another slab then the blade just started spin freely and not cut (rather arbor spun and blade didn’t. Now blade still lose and my feed doesn’t turn. Question after this too long post is : What’s up with the blade and did I trash my feed gears (haven’t opened the box yet. Thanks for any help Rusty

rustyfb111 welcome to the forum! I moved your saw post over to the lapidary equipment area so it will get as much attention as possible.

A pic of the saw, or the manufacturer would help. What is the blade size, and is it a cabinet style slab saw or a trim/slab table saw style saw? There was a list of symptoms mentioned that can mean totally different things on different saws. Blade Wobble- Is that run out, as in the blade edge oscillates when it's spun, or the blade can be moved back and forth when stationary?
Pulley- Are you sure the pulley is now spinning the arbor shaft? Is the nut holding the blade on tight?
Feed- Does it run off the arbor shaft or have it's own separate motor?
There is a pretty long list of things that could be happening, and a little info about the saw design can really cut the list way down.
Welcome to the forum.

I am sure the pully is spinning the arbor shaft. I haven't touched the blade nut yet. the feed is a separate motor. And your right a little info goes a long way I should have included and actually thought I had the info. its a Lortone 14 in self feeding saw. Model LST-12. I can not figure where to post pictures or I would. Thank you for any help

LST12 should have a seperate cut off switch for the feed motor, I had one with that switch failed once, back when you could still order replacements from Lortone. HP may have them now, or a replacement kit of some kind. Is it a 12 or 14, the 14 should be a LS14, or I think the Panther has a different letter prefix. The Panther has a 7RPM feed motor as opposed to the 4RPM on their other saws, IMO slower is better. With those saws if the blade stops with power on, the feed motor continues to run and often the blade gets bent, possibly the source of your wobble. Below is a video from HP on blade straightening. There are other off the saw methods I use, but this is the safe easy way. Incidentally he is working on their copy of your saw.
A lot of people on this forum have a Lortone of some kind. I have refurbished and used several of them myself, but mostly resell them because I have saws in that size range I like better. They are pretty good saws for someone who has a larger saw and doesn't try to push these to their limits, as they are a little lighter duty than a lot of others. HP lapidary will have parts, but I don't know if they are direct fit or require fabrication to get them to fit.
Got to run to work now

I have the Lortone 14" saw that was called the Panther. It's a good little saw but the bearings are under engineered but luckily are easily replaced. When the bearings start to wash out I can tell because the blade wants to bind. Just a little fyi....
