So nice, Velo! Shiny rocks make me happy and I need happy today! Thanks for sharing! The one with the pocket is so cool - was that hard to clean out each stage?

Initially it was a whole rock that I broke in half. Between clean out stages, an electric tooth brush and my little sonic cleaner it wasn’t bad. But I haven’t taken as much care to individually clean each rock lately, and it shows. Between 15 and 20% of each batch will need to be redone at some point. But since I filled up jars and glass bowls with them for display, the little boo-boos are not as noticeable. I figure someday, when Ive gone through the majority of what I’ve bought and collected, I will collect all of the imperfect rocks, and try again.

Am currently looking at the ones I did 100% Harbor Freight Rotary that used to seem so great ... back when "shiny" was enough. Now I also see the cracks and flaws and undercutting etc. Now that I have a system for tumbling all year, and not just when the weather is cooperating, I can finish the buckets of new ones and then (perhaps) go back and re-do the old but "imperfect" ..if they can stand the size loss of stage one. Something productive to do to combat the northern winter !

I need to invest in a sonic cleaner for those such rocks....

I’ll get a better one eventually.

Great looking batch. Nicely shaped with an excellent polish. I like the variety too. Thanks for showing.

When I redo rocks, it’s usually just back to stage 2. I only redo special rocks also. The regular ones with minor defects my step daughter and I give away. I’ve noticed that others aren’t near as picky about shiny rock imperfections as those of us that make them that way are lol.
