Nice. That first Gary Green sure reminds me of the old-time Green Imperial.

Nice ones ! Love the polish on the dark imperial. Patty Thanks. I used to use a DP Cerium wheel.. At the end of my progression. I have since took that wheel off to stick a 60 soft in the line up Further in. Now i use( on all fine jasper) A cerium pad that spins way faster And heats up the stone. The heat is my friend and brings a superior Polish. I have to be careful with some materials Like Plasma agate for instance? The heat will create internal fractures. Its all trial and error with a HUGE learning curve One of these days I’ll figure something out🤣

Interesting fencejumper You have me curious on the 60 soft ? Truthfully, I had to look it up I had no idea they sold a soft wheel so coarse. So are you moving to 60 soft off of 80 hard ?
Then staying soft through all the grits ?
Doing 140 too ?
You didn't think you'd get off that easy just casually mentioning it without spilling the gory details , did you ??
Inquiring minds need to know !

Funny I just discovered the Soulstone lapidary FB site last night and saw these spectacular cabs. Very impressive cabs and very impressive the number of them that you've sold!

I figure , at this rate, if i never buy another rock, wheel, blade 5 gallon jug of oil, or set of bearings ? I will break halfway even by 2075 🤣

My hobby before lapidary was golf. I rarely played. Practiced a lot and took lessons. It is more expensive than lapidary and the value of sweat produced is minimal.

Those are stupendous cabs, Paul! Thanks for sharing your progression. I've never used cerium. You make a great case for it.

A friend, who owns a Napa Valley winery, once told me his secret for making a small fortune in the wine business. "Start with a large fortune," he confided. I think the rock business is the cottage-level equivalent of the wine business.
