My grandson and I went to Davis Creek many years ago and he found a piece that showed green which is uncommon for that location. One day he "tapped" the piece and it broke into a few pieces that showed some fantastic color. I didn't do much with it until lately. Most of the material from here shows faint striations in the color when you cut it parallel to the color bands. If you orient these striations across the narrow dimension of the cab it will exhibit a cat's eye effect. This cab is almost 4" tall.

Wow really cool. 👍 I was never much of an obsidian fan until we did the cab contest earlier this year and I practiced a bunch of cabs with it. I can definitely see having fun working with more of it, especially the unusual varieties.
