Thanks to everyone who’s commented. I wanted to share this as to give others an idea for rock related gifts. I want to put magnets on these and use them as fridge magnets for notes. I think it’s kind of a cool idea. I have friends and family who aren’t overly into rocks, but I know would put these on their fridge.

No I don't even have a saw...

You had to mention about putting it on the refrigerator and hanging notes. Before it was just cool, now I am going to have to make some. It is now on my list of rock things to do.

That is so cool!! I think it's a GREAT idea to use for notes. Looks like a lot of work went into it.

That's really cool! Thanks for sharing. I could see making them in a smaller size too. I think we've got some clothespins that are about 1/2 of regular size. We also have some tiny ones that are only about an inch long.

I think some of you guys that have the right saws and grinding tools could bust these out pretty quick. I’ll try to remember tonight to post pics of the “preforms” he created that he shapes into the pins. I’m pretty sure his spring is just an old twisted coat hanger 😂

Hmmmm. Yeah, I see a couple jigs for Elizabeths rock drill press and some double stick tape to knock out preforms, I think she will want a couple fridge magnets like that, and why not just repurpose the springs from wooden ones?
