rockjunquie Your daughter still grinding away with last year's gift? She doesn't spend a lot of time on it, but she's been doing it and she likes her rocks.

Thanks Jason jasoninsd. It’s nice to be able to zoom on the photos a little. I’m done buying them now. Hopefully I’ve got enough to get a full 12 lb barrel to stage 2. It will be tough sitting on that many for so long. I want to try to save some of the limonite on them. I also have some ideas for stabilizing the few quartzies in there.

I’m done buying these things. Here are a couple photos of the final package. They’re still kind of oily but this is a particularly nice group. WOW! There are some really nice ones in that group.

The orbs are so nice! I guess when you say you are done buying something, you mean "done for today".

I think I have enough to eventually get to a 12 lb barrel ready for stage 2 so I’m laying off buying more Lakers for a while. I usually run stage 2 through polish in the 3 pounder. I’ve learned a lot about LSAs already.

Here are some photos from the sixth cleanout. I broke the barrel into bigs and smalls this time. Here are the bigger ones. These have mostly been photographed rough in earlier posts. Shown dry and wet stirred once. These are the smalls. They’re almost as nice as the bigs but there are a LOT more of them. It takes forever to sort through these. It’s all rolling again. Thanks for looking.

Cleanout seven was another adventure. It’s a lot or rocks to photograph. It takes forever to sort this barrel. Every rock grabs your eye. If anyone has suggestions for what I could do different by way of posting this batch, let me know. I’m struggling with the best way to show it. These are the smalls, stirred between photos. Here are the bigger ones. These were photographed rough earlier in the thread. Photos are dry and wet/stirred. These are a few that jumped out at me. A little disappointing but this is all that’s moving on from this batch. These are in the stage two bucket since starting the barrel. Replacement, bigger agates going in. I left a few of the smalls out to increase contact between the larger agates. These are pretty darn big. I heated a few and put CA adhesive on quartzy areas and areas with limonite. Purely experimental. Rolling again.

I like the range of colors, reminds me of 70's couch.
So what do you do with something like the big one, which from these photos anyway, looks like it has some sub-surface cracking?
I know you have a long way to go, just picking your brain. I'm still playing around with barrel max load and smalls kind of like you are doing.

Brent...your query about changing things with regards to how you're posting... Personally, I LOVE they way you're doing it. I like seeing the different pieces that are eye-catchers, the ones moving on, the ones staying put, and the new ones being added. I think you're doing a lot in this thread...and we're reaping the benefits! So...a big thank you for doing all this for us onlookers!

The orange/red ones are really nice! I like the orange too. I’m trying to keep some of the yellow limonite from grinding away but it’s not easy. I like the range of colors, reminds me of 70's couch. I'm still playing around with barrel max load and smalls kind of like you are doing. There are so many different types of lakers. I hate those low angle subsurface cracks in rocks. I think that one is in for the long haul. It’s showing signs of parallax shadows. Brent...your query about changing things with regards to how you're posting... The little guys kind of get lost in the big ones.

Well, I say make a gravity fed waterfall out of them and film it in slow mo as they are cascading down
