This shows that slurry viscosity and grit surface area have a definite effect on grinding efficiency.

Very informative and interesting. However there seems to be a disconnect between the 2nd to last page and the last page where we went from abrasive discussion to new mineral and hematite.

Interesting article and it confirms what I've read with not using coarser than 80 in a 3 lb barrel. I just wonder if anyone has done a similar test with a 12 lb barrel ? Guess I have to search the archives.

Thanks so much. I'm going to print this and give it thoughtful consideration.
I was wondering if sometimes slurry has too much viscosity. It seems a point of "supersaturation" (of grit and rock "mud") is reached and no additional wearing occurs.
