That is some really nice looking wonderstone with great variety. Is this material solid or does it have soft spots?

That is some really nice looking wonderstone with great variety. Is this material solid or does it have soft spots? I have cabbed this material before and it was solid. Wonderstones (rhyolite) will vary in composition. Some is more glassy, such as these pieces as where other Wonderstones have more of a sandstone texture that does not polish well.

Wow that's some really wonderful wonderstone! I really like the "veins" in the fourth picture down, I don't think I've ever seen any with that pattern.

Silica solutions can seep in to cracks first condensing in to a silica gel, then to opal. As the opal loses water it will crystallize in to some form of chalcedony, in this case it looks like jasper.
