10% off and they don't charge sales tax or charge for shipping. I don't need equipment but can always use trim saw blades and wheels. I pay $45.70 for an 8 inch generic MK303. They have an 8 inch blade for $31.50. I bought a soft wheel for $63. JB charges $75 with sales tax and free shipping. I have bought and used the HP soft wheels and they seem to be good quality and balanced. The only one that has received a lot of use is a 140 grit and it seems to be wearing well.

Maybe I'll order some cutting oil even if it is more than a month out of stock.

I have a feeling this sale is going to get me to buy an 8" cabber.
The gentleman I bought my trim saw from advised against the HP wheels - he claimed there was runout on them, and that I should go for NOVA wheels.
Is there merit to this, and would the NOVA ones be worth the additional cost? Would they even fit?

I love my Novas and find them to be long lasting with proper use. Always work across the wheels and not just in the middle. I have tried the Baltic wheels which are much cheaper, but I actually despised their "Novas". The hard wheels were ok.

This is what I was considering buying: hplapidary.com/products/highland-park-model-cb8-stainless-steel-cabbing-machine-110vWould any hardware be required to adapt the DP wheels to it?

Any 8 inch soft wheel should work on an 8 inch machine. Wheels don't last forever and can be mixed and matched.
I've been happy with the HP soft wheels and I consider DP wheels over priced. You need four soft wheels, try both and compare. The 280 will get the most wear for most people.

Just order me some replacement diamond segments for my blade, and to get up to that $50 free shipping I ordered some rough. Guess we will see if there rough is worth the price.

Who’s got the deals on new cabbing machines? I’d like an 8” and a 4” wheel set

10% off the machines, 15% off the wheels when purchased together at the zoom sale.

It looks so spacious but it seemed unnecessarily so. I hope I don't have regrets, but the HP seemed space well enough and will fit on my table while leaving room for a small trim saw.

I have a Genie and like it. HP likes to design equipment improving on similar designs; KN and Cab King. From a cost standpoint you made a good choice. For how I use a cabber, I have no need for a lot of space between wheels. Someone who likes to make really large cabs it would be a benefit. Eight inch wheels have more space to work with, last longer, cut faster and are more expensive. I started with an 8 inch machine with two wheels, went to a Genie, added more wheels on my 8 inch machine and now am back to the Genie. An aggressive 6 inch wheel will cut as fast as an 8 inch and I can manage working with a 1.5 inch soft wheel instead of a 2 inch. What I like about the Genie is having Geysers under the wheels so I can add spacers to increase distance, a removable right arbor which allows for more wheels and the trim saw attachment. When my Genie dies I would definitely consider the HP.

I took the money I saved and put it into sintered 60 and 120, and bought an air filter for my cabbing room.
I'm too green to know if I made the right choice for myself, but here we go! 🎲 🤞

Got my order. One of the blade segments was fine, the other got bent slightly, but should be fine. The rough was not exactly stellar at first glance The African blood stone (Cherry orchard I think it was subtitled) was not what I expected but looking at it closer I think it will make some interesting slabs, and seems solid enough. The Argentinian banded plume agate was a disappointment, until I got it wet. This should make some very interesting cabs if it is solid, but I fear that a lot of it may be hollow. I know one piece is hollow as the end is broken and it appears more than half if it is a druzy filled vug. One piece is solid, but is not showing any bands, the other 4 pieces are going to be a crap shoot. No pictures yet as I want to make a couple cuts before I pass final judgement, and the saw is in the process of getting an oil filter.
