The fact that I purchased it from Upper Michigan Rockhounds should be a clue too!

Yea, I think it will be interesting wrapped in copper. Not sure what to do about patina. Not too bad to work with other than being a bit grabby on the coarse wheel.

I was just wondering about patina as well. I’m curious how the copper in the cab itself will age over time. Wonder if the polish process does anything to either slow or speed up potential color change… Really pretty cabs by the way.

Thanks, Khara, I know the slab has been cut for a while and the copper was very bright. I guess time will tell. I also got some "cement mixer" copper from them. They find it with a metal detector, bash the host rock off with a sledge hammer and then tumble it cleaner in a cement mixer. Basically giant natural shape copper nuggets. Some are shaped really nice. I was holding an open box to get some float copper but kept losing the bidding. More stuff that was naturally shaped but it was thin little pieces. I think they would have made nice earrings just putting a hole in them.
