Excellent polish. This wood type can be found around Bryan/College Station west of the tracks.

Oh yeah, that’s Texas petrified wood. East Texas particularly (as mentioned above). As for what type, there’s all types in the fossil record here. The one that stands out is that spotted one in picture 4, it looks like a palm wood, which is our state rock. The one below it looks nicely agateized and the one to the left is really interesting. It looks like a combination of petrified plant matter. I also like the ‘plank’ picture number 3, I have a similar one that I’ve been working on. Another one that caught my eye is one in the large pile, just a bit below center (photo below). It’s an absolutely beautiful, please post some more pics of it if you don’t mind! You got a very nice shine on all those.
