I found this at an estate sale. It was labelled "Jade???" (their question marks, not mine.)
Anyway, it's 35 lb, and cabbable, and I got it for less than a buck a pound. But I haven't worked it yet, and don't know what it is. Does it look familiar to any of you?

Looks like basalt.

First photo looks like sidewalk concrete on top of blacktop.
If not, I’d go with basalt as mentioned.

Run your fingers over the rough surfaces and see if it feels waxy.

Limestone on basalt is what it looks like. I find it like that around here.
