My cabber is getting delivered tomorrow! I may be able to try if i can break in these wheels. Otherwise, I won't be able to get back to the workshop until Jan 10th, and that's way too long! What you get? Pretty easy to break in the wheels. Hell… I really didn’t even break in my new wheels. Ran a hard piece of jasper over each wheel for 20 seconds and called it a day 😂 Yep. I just find a nice hard agate or jasper preform that needs material removed and run it over the wheels to remove the excess bits of the polymer with diamond they made them from. Only need to do it with the soft wheels, and really with 600 and up you might as well wait till you have a couple cabs shaped most of the way before you even bother with them. Hard wheels need no breaking in, but be sure to use the full width of the wheel so it wears in evenly.

Would have preferred the Kingsley North but it's a bit too big for my area. Plus, with their Black Friday sale I got it 10% off, and all the wheels and accessories were 15% off. Went with sintered 60 and 140 wheels, and then the rest of the standard sequence of soft wheels.

This is my entry for the contest. I enjoy firework displays that are used for decorating the Holiday sky. My entry used a piece of Mexican lace to show the exploding light in a dark sky. The cab size is about 2 inches and was shaped from a flat polished blank. Top, bottom and side are in order. Pictures in next entry.

I don't usually get all giddy about crazy lace, but that's a really cool one Victor!

Finally made a cab I didn't break! First four fell on the ground after they popped off the dop on the polishing wheel, and the fifth fell, didn't break, but did manage to get scratched quite badly. I was only happy with two of the other ones, but here's one I'm happy with and it survived! I'm going to have to lay down some blankets off the right side of the table. The bare concrete floor isn't very forgiving of my n00bness. 😆 Here's some Craig Gulch Picture Jasper that was shaped to resemble a Christmas tree.

agatewhisperer - Alex, I meant to say something yesterday! That material (I'm betting it's OJ as well) is stunning! Fantastic...as always! iamchris - Great looking cab! I can "see" the Christmas tree!!
