If I'm understanding realrockhound correctly, that 4th piece is definitely some kind of Bruneau...just not the normal kind. Okay, I've got it now. I was thinking there were only four pictures, rather than the obvious five, and also thinking that "abhorrent" was my piece. Some of that material was the perfect image on Bruneau, but not that piece of mine that you just posted. I've got a fair amount of Bruneau, purchased long ago from Tony, and quite a bit of it is like #4. Okay...whew! I was starting to get confused! LOL The first three are the "regular" Bruneau. The fourth is the Aberrant Bruneau...or whatever we want to call it. The fifth is the "local" Jasper you had sent me last year. Here's the thread with the first pieces I did of the local Jasper...as well as another piece of what we had called Aberrant Bruneau that you sent me: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/101517/24-hours-straight-on-wheels

Wow, great Bruneaus Jason! It’s one of my favorite jaspers only because there was quite a bit of it in the old rockhounds collection that I obtained when I first came back to this hobby as an adult. Most were already cut oval cabs but we do have one nice little face cut display piece. I occasionally think about taking a slice or two off of it! I think the rocks we learn first just tend to stick with us.

Stunning as always! My goal is to get half as good as you and then I'll know I've arrived . Having a hard time getting back into doing anything after vacation, but I'll get there...

Man Jason. You really outdid yourself on those cabs. They’re all fantastic and your finish really maximized the Bruneau’s potential. The polish looks flawless, as Bruneau should. I really like the non-typical cab. And the last cab is super attractive too.

You KNOW it's going to take an amazing polish...it's just a matter of getting it there! Stunning as always! My goal is to get half as good as you and then I'll know I've arrived . Having a hard time getting back into doing anything after vacation, but I'll get there... Thank you Peta! Heck...I'm still pokin' and hopin' most of the time when I work material or shapes! I've been having so much fun cabbing over the last many months, it's hard for me to get back to wanting to wrap the dang things! So, I totally understand! Man Jason. You really outdid yourself on those cabs. They’re all fantastic and your finish really maximized the Bruneau’s potential. The polish looks flawless, as Bruneau should. I really like the non-typical cab. And the last cab is super attractive too. Thank you my friend! I think the first Bruneau I ever worked came from you! Yeah, that atypical (aberrant...or whatever we call it! LOL) was a concern. I knew there was that kind of odd pattern on the backside of the cab...but there was a flaw on the girdle. So, I had to dome the side that I did...or it would have left that flaw. I was stoked to see the pattern did what I "thought" (read that as hoped! LOL) was going to happen.

When I read "Bruneau" in the title, I was sure I'm gonna have some eye-treat in this thread. Not only I was right, but my expectations were exceeded. Gorgeous material, perfectly framed in your elegant cabs!
