I thought I'd post a few less cabs in this thread than I did in the last one! LOL The Bruneau Jasper came from realrockhound ...thanks again my friend! I love this material. It polishes better than pretty much everything else out there! (Okay...not everything...but the vast majority! LOL) The fourth cabochon is Bruneau Jasper...but I believe it would be referred to as "Abhorrent Bruneau Jasper". EDIT - I'm leaving the above because I think my mistake is hilarious! LOL - I'd like to blame it on autocorrect...but it was flat out my mistake! LOL - Talk about totally changing the meaning! LOL - So, Susan was correct in that it's called Aberrant Bruneau Jasper! Thanks for the catch Susan!! The last cabochon is a material I got quite awhile back from susand24224 . If memory serves me correctly...and once in awhile it does...this is a local "no-name" Jasper from her neck of the woods. Thanks again Susan! As always, thanks for taking a gander!

Wow again! Those first three Bruneau Jaspers look flawless. Thank you my friend! I seriously wish ALL material worked like Bruneau! LOL - When a material is coming off the soft 280 with a bit of a polish, you know it should be good at the end! LOL

Spectacular cabs jasoninsd! I've wanted to work some Bruneau Jasper for a while. I've got some small pieces of Imperial to slab and I've had a hiatus placed on my rock purchases so that will have to do.

These are excellent cabs. Orbs are enchanting! Thanks PS! Looking at the rough, there was a hint there was going to be some orbs...and it wasn't disappointing! OMGoodness! I LOVE Bruno! Those are all really nice ones- even your Frankenstein. LOL! Thanks Tela! The shapes on those last two are fun to make. There's a lot of "movement" when working the dome. It's a fun shape to work! Spectacular cabs jasoninsd ! I've wanted to work some Bruneau Jasper for a while. I've got some small pieces of Imperial to slab and I've had a hiatus placed on my rock purchases so that will have to do. Thank you Gary! I figured you'd worked Bruneau already! Funny you mention Imperial. When I was typing out the statement about "better than almost everything", Imperial was going through my head as being one of the other materials that polish like crazy! Sorry you've had a hiatus "placed" on your purchases. I've said it before...it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission!! LOL I like #4 as my favorite. Great job! Thanks Victor! That shape is so much easier to work when it's a flatter dome. When there's any kind of height on the dome, it becomes a lot more tricky. The dome on #4 is higher than the one on #5.

Bruneau is a tough find. I'm priced out of nice slabs and rough is frequently a gamble.

Thanks for tagging me, Jason! It's "aberrant" not "abhorrent" but I suspect you know that. All of those look stupendous--and the aberrant is not as Bruneauy as it used to be, but I still love it.

Now you have done it Jason, if you put "Abhorrent Bruneau Jasper" in Google, your post here comes up first.

Bruneau is a tough find. I'm priced out of nice slabs and rough is frequently a gamble. I've been super lucky to have been "gifted" several nice pieces!! Thanks for tagging me, Jason! It's "aberrant" not "abhorrent" but I suspect you know that. All of those look stupendous--and the aberrant is not as Bruneauy as it used to be, but I still love it. Thanks Susan! OMG!! That's hilarious Susan! NO...I did not intentionally misspell that...I just wasn't paying attention! LOL - I edited the original post. Now you have done it Jason, if you put "Abhorrent Bruneau Jasper" in Google, your post here comes up first. Now you know the secret to having your listings come up first in Google! LOL I left it misspelled in the original post...but added the correct word! LOL I know a guy who makes a fair amount of money scouring eBay and other sites for misspelled items. No one searches for "similar" spellings when they're doing a search. So, he searches for the alternate spellings and finds auctions other people overlook...snatches them...and relists them with the correct spelling. Wow, that's all I have to say. Mic drop Thanks Diane! I think my wife wants a karaoke machine for Christmas. I'm hoping this will be the only microphone drop in this house! LOL

jasoninsd, it is perfectly okay with me if it is called "abhorrent" jasper. After all, I made the name up just for you--some of it looks identical to Bruneau, but that piece? Nah.

If I'm understanding realrockhound correctly, that 4th piece is definitely some kind of Bruneau...just not the normal kind.

I was thinking there were only four pictures, rather than the obvious five, and also thinking that "abhorrent" was my piece. Some of that material was the perfect image on Bruneau, but not that piece of mine that you just posted. I've got a fair amount of Bruneau, purchased long ago from Tony, and quite a bit of it is like #4.
