1. Plasma Agate — 35 x 32 mm This was an alternate Bench Contest cab that I didn't submit. Its prominent druzy "pearl" (or "bean"? ) really tends to catch the eye. I'll be making a pendant with it.
2. Willow Creek Jasper — 39 x 30 mm I see a view looking out from inside the mouth of a large cave. The gray banding was originally pretty much straight across the preform, so it was a very pleasant surprise that, for once, the patterns shifted to strengthen the design as I was removing material. Unfortunately, this cab has a few saw marks on the back that couldn't be removed.
3. Blue Tide Seam "Agate" — 34 x23 mm I don't see this material very often any more. I backed it with 3M DP420 epoxy for strength.
4. Pacific Picasso Jasper — 49 x 33 mm I couldn't make the abstract patterns work for any more or less conventional shapes, so then I just let them determine this cab's shape.

The symmetry of the Willow Creek Jasper and Blue Tide Seam Agate are amazing! Thanks for posting.

Gary, it's great to see you back on the wheels! I missed your eye candy cabs!! That Willow Creek turned out fantastic! The symmetry of the lower half leading up into the slightly asymmetrical swooping gray area balances that out fantastically well! The inside curve on that Plasma is wicked narrow! Was that on the wheels, or rotary tool? I'm jealous! I love it when you pull out that Pacific Picasso! It always gorgeous!!

Gary those are awesome cabs! Love them all. Regarding the Willow Creek, G_d made closed back cab settings for a reason!

Thank you, Jason. I draw inspiration from every one of your cab postings — they're the reason that I've started to work with inside curves. The Plasma curve was done on wheels, switching from my Genie to the Pixie.

opalpyrexia - Gary...just so there's no misunderstanding: Ever since I joined the forum and jumped down the cabbing rabbit hole, there are a few people that I have paid very close attention to their work because I knew they were setting the bar for what I wanted to achieve. You my friend are one of those people!

Beauties all, as expected. But, that willow creek capture is just sooo perfect. Way to go!
