Hi, I just got home from a local clubs rockhounding meeting, and have to admit I had a blast. Meet some wonderful people, and am so excited about some upcoming rockhounding trips to different local areas. There is close to 100 members but there was only about 30 at the meeting, but that is like all clubs, you have the people and then members. I am going to become very active in this club I have a feeling I am to excited to go to bed now, hahaha I even got a few nice rocks too ;D Bunny

Ahh cool Bunny! You'll be so busy...you'll have no time for sleep!
Ever since I've found the forums, I'm surprised that I barely have time for everything! Though, what's really nice is that Cher and I will likely get to meet in a few weeks in Minneapolis...and right after that, Cookie and I are getting together to romp in the Chattahoochee River for rutilated quartz (and whatever else we can scare up!) I'm looking forward to joining the Georgia Mineral Society soon. (Maybe in January...when things die down a bit.)
Honestly, I've been having a blast too! (Is that showing my age?) It's really unusual for me to do something like this, but I actually stopped by a softball field near where we live to scan the dirt/clay parking lot for stones. (Managed to find a few nice stones...surprising for Georgia...it didn't look like quartz...not sure what it is)
;D

Whew, now I don't feel so alone! Glad you had a good time at the meeting. Wish I had a group closer to me.

Hello BC, Glad to hear that you had a good time. I too wish I had a club around here. So, I improvise ... I get a mirror and put it on the table and then I have someone to talk to about rocks. I don't know if I like the other member very much as he is always mimmicking me Have a great day, John

john that's too funny! i had to go to a parent meeting for the daisy group (younger than brownies) and the form asked if we had a hobby we'd share with the group and i said i'd share my rock tumbling with them and all the moms looked totally puzzled - nobody knew what rock tumbling was . kim
